I think my life is pretty weird. Weird in a sense that things happen kind of like they were written down. Everything connects somehow. When something happens to me, I like to morph it into an eye catching story so people are able to feel what I felt when I went through it. I gather inspiration from instances in my life, or by learning about a topic that interests me. There's inspiration all around us, we just have to look carefully!

Being able to tell your stories, and have people benefit from reading them. Whether stories are real or made up, they are able to impact with a message. I try to put some sort of meaning and purpose into everything I write so my audience can connect with what I'm thinking. The thought of someone enjoying what I wrote and somehow making them feel some sort of feeling, or helping them get through with something, is one of the greatest satisfactions I can get.

Just sit down and write your heart out. The key is persistence. Not everything you write is going to appeal to an audience, but everything you write will help you understand what works and what doesn't. When you finish writing something you can read it again and look at it from a different perspective. Instead of settling for what you have, ask yourself how you can make it better. Writing is no easy task, but if you truly like it, you'll find the time to do it. Make sure to get feedback from people who are interested and try to understand different points of view. Use criticism to grow, not as excuse to give up.

You just gotta take a break. Go out, talk with friends, go on a walk, whatever. Your brain gets so worried about trying to write something that it doesn't think about what it has to write, just that it has to do it. The goal is to get your mind off things and try to find inspiration in the world that surrounds you. Eventually you get an idea, but you can't force it. At least that's how I deal with it!

My most recently published book is Diagnosis. I got the idea by thinking of what message I wanted to deliver. I thought about the negative aspects in society. I asked myself what was the best way I could exhibit what those aspects could cause in an individual. I went with the worst-case scenario I could imagine which was somebody becoming a psychopath. With this, I could show how society impacts the individual and how those individuals impact society back, like a circle of negative effects. Thus, Diagnosis was born!

I'm currently working on two books. One is a fiction novel in English and the other is non-fiction in Spanish. I'll probably be finished with the non-fiction one first because I came up with the idea recently and it's been pretty easy to write since it's based on stories about my own life. Hopefully when I finish that one I can continue the fiction one. I'll be posting updates on my progress here and on social media!
