Kimberly Burnstein Just keep going. It's hard work. It's a long game. It took me ten years to finish my book mostly because life kept getting in the way. But, the day I held my finished novel in my hands, it was all worth it.
Kimberly Burnstein I am not currently working on another book. If that same muse that handed me the Katrina Witness pops up with something that I cannot turn down, then I'll write another book. Until then, I am busy and fulfilled taking care of my two rescue dogs and four horses.
Kimberly Burnstein I was on my honeymoon in Spain. I had just read an article about Hurricane Sandy and how they were making a great effort to rescue not just people, but also their pets. Apparently, during Hurricane Katrina this was not the case. There were stories of people choosing to take their chances on their roof rather than leave behind their pets.

My dog, Pepper, had just crossed over the rainbow bridge. I found myself thinking about what I would do if it were me. Obviously, I could never have left her. But it got me thinking.

In one sleepless night the story came to me out of nowhere. It was like a muse had handed me this book and I just had to write it. As an avid reader, I knew it would be a story that readers would enjoy. I hope you like it.
