I received an email from you with "As requested" in the subject bar. I did not request the book, and using that phrase in an email is kind of a cheap-shot and slick version of spam. It automatically turns me against the book and the sender of the email. I suggest changing your strategy and showing a little respect for the people to whom you mass mail. Was this your idea, or something cooked up by a publicist?
David Callinan Just found your email in junk. I think I've already answered it. A Facebook ad campaign sign-up somehow picked up a couple of addresses that shouldn't have been there. The ones that were had requested the book.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
David Callinan It actually came from a real life heist which remains the most notorious robbery in British history. That combined with an interest in Japanese Himatsu puzzle boxes led to 'Or Else She Dies'.

How do you get inspired to write?
David Callinan I don't think inspiration is the motivating force. A sudden idea triggered by a seemingly innocuous events and set a chain of ideas in motion. I used to be a songwriter which is a bit like poetry and you can struggle to find the words you need but that isn't really inspiration as in the question.

What are you currently working on?
David Callinan I have finished a new thriller which is with my agent and out with publishers. Fingers crossed.

I have to force myself to engage in all kinds of social media marketing on the assumption it's good for me. Haha!

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
David Callinan A famous writer once said. 'A writer is a person who writes.' That says it all.

David Callinan Exploring your psyche and your imagination.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
David Callinan I've never experienced writer's block. I always seem to have too many ideas competing for attention. Sometimes I might struggle over a particular scene or a particular character behaviour but I tend to plan books just like you would a screenplay.
