I don't know yet. I'll be really busy with my two little granddaughters, and with the children's book I'll soon be publishing and the one I'm translating, that I wonder if I'll have time for a summer reading this year. Besides, I saw no titles appealing enough; maybe a book about Anthropology, but I still have not found it yet.

If you love writing, if you're a natural storyteller and wish to transmit a valuable meessage to future generations, just follow your dream, because as the Portuguese poet Antonio Gedeão said:

If you wish to write for commercial reasons, for making a living out of it, then good luck. And don't write for passion, but write what the media (and the publishers) says that sells.

I'm currently writing books for very little children. My granddaughters will soon be three years old, and until they go to primary school I'll be writing a book every year, adapted to their age. The first book I wrote in this series was for their second anniversary, and it is called "Sofia & Adélia na Quinta" (Sofia & Adélia at the farm). This year's book is "Sofia & Adélia no Zoo" (at the zoo). Sofia and Adélia are bilingual French-Portuguese, so the books will also be bilingual. But I intend to write bilingual books also in English and German, at least.

I write mainly children's books, and the inspiration for them came, and still comes, from adventures with my pets, from Nature, and animals in general. Regarding books for more adult readers, their source of inspiration is usually taken from real life, either mine or that of others.

My most recent book is a novem (in Portuguese, my mother language) inspired from real facts that happened on Sepember 11, 2001, which the media ignored because they (wrongly) believe that people are only interested in the bad side of life, because media like to control people by showing them the morbid, not the good deeds. Taking these real facts as background, I built fictional characters to write a short story about a man caught in the middle of these events, and whose encounter with a child s will for ever change his way of perceiving and feeling his own life.

As far as I remember, there is no mysteries in my life, I've always tried to run my life as clearly as possible. But if I'd ever write my memories, then I'd have to write not only one book but a few, and the subjects would be as varied as "love & sex", "woman's rights and emancipation", "travelling", "working in a predomantly male environment", and others. Since I was born, I struggled for equality between men and women. I'm not a feminist, though. For me, feminism is the same as "masculism" - but on the opposite sense. If I don't accept masculism, I cannot accept feminism. Only equal treatment of the genders, i.e. humanism or equalism.
