I'd always wondered why we don't have our own Thelma And Louise. And why anti patriarchy movies, or book about women dealing and righting the evils of patriarchy aren't produced often enough. And when I felt like writing one myself, setting it in a world most affected by patriarchy seemed like the most natural thing to do.
