How do you get inspired to write?
Tony Thomson I started by writing a memoir of driving from London to India in a VW bus in 1971 and driving back with Alyson. I wanted our children to know that Alyson and I were bold people who did bold things - like going all over Iran and Afghanistan and Pakistan - once upon a time.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Tony Thomson I've never experienced it - I had to write endless reports and proposals in the course of business so I just got on with them.
