I am split between two projects right now. I had begun a new series set at a houseparty, but recently thought a short story or novella dealing with a character from the first Wolverton book would be a way to answer any questions about her fate. It also would be something special for people signing up for my newsletter. I am still in the very early research stages, though, so I don't have the final story worked out yet.

When I first thought of this series wanted to tell the stories of 3 sisters who were different from each other but who supported each other no matter what. I originally thought Elizabeth would be a "bluestocking" whose educational pursuits would set her out from the common herd of young ladies. But educated women did sometimes take their place as wives of politicians and diplomats, so that idea didn't set enough of a challenge for her. I wanted her interests to be something unexpected that would be more difficult for the common Regency gentleman to overlook. In the end, I loved developing a character whose passion for her craft is as much a part of her as the role it plays in dealing with the difficulties she faces because of it.
