Robert Greenberger In cases like this series, I was paid a flat fee and do not receive sales or royalty reports. My understanding is that the pandemic depressed sales so much that the sixth book was canceled and no further work, including titles from Marvel, was stopped.
Robert Greenberger Well, having read only one, DIckens' A Christmas Carol, I guess it's that one.
Robert Greenberger I'm intrigued by Amber, Roger Zelazny's prototype for all the shadow realms that followed (including Earth). As depicted in his first cycle of Amber novels, it seemed more than just a medieval fantasy kingdom where the stones were sturdy, the men were handsome, and the women lovely. I would visit court, tour the lands, and meet the people to gain an understanding of what could have led the royal family to splinter and betray one another.
Robert Greenberger My TBR stack remains ever-growing and I haven't determined exactly what order to tackle them in. I do need to read Planet of the Apes: Tales from the Forbidden Zone (yes, I have a story here, but haven't read the others) before I sit in on an Apes panel at Shore Leave in early July Similarly, my Crazy 8 Press is releasing Love, Murder & Mayhem, a fun anthology and I want to have that read before shilling it at the con.

I'm looking for the usual mix of fiction, non-fiction, and genre fare. I'm open to really good suggestions, too.
Robert Greenberger My dad died in th 1990s from Pick's Disease and the doctors think it was a result of being infected with Sarcodosis back in the 1960s. I suppose I'd like to better understand how this all happened, is it even possible to trace the pathology back to single illness, infection, or something else. We'll never know, of course, and really, it's the only thing I can think of that qualifies as a mystery in my life.
Robert Greenberger This is an odd one, Laura. While I consider Harlan a friend, and I adored his Partners in Wonder collection, I don't know if we would make good collaborators. Our prose styles are very different. That said, I would choose science fiction since it is more an exploration of ideas, something he remains wonderful at.
Robert Greenberger I read a lot of authors but the ones I read multiple works from was a far smaller set and that included Harlan Ellison, J.R.R. Tolkiien, John Varley, Robert E. Howard, Fritz Leiber, and a handful of others.
Robert Greenberger My process begins with finding a question about our character that needs to be answered. In the forthcoming Sherlock Holmes book, it began with wondering what those early months at 221B Baker Street was like as they grew accustomed to one another and then a case presented itself.
Robert Greenberger Reading (books, newspapers, magazines) watching movies and television, talking with my fellow writers.
Robert Greenberger With Steven Savile, I have Sherlock Holmes: Murder at Sorrow's Crown for Titan Books, coming out in 2015. I have edited and contributed a story to Crazy 8 Press' Tales of the Crimson Keep, our third anniversary project.
Robert Greenberger Write and read. Repeat. These have to be ingrained activities otherwise you are not committed to the process.
Robert Greenberger Sitting at my desk and making something out of nothing, taking a vague idea and giving it life. And the. Unleashing it Ito the world and seeing how people respond.
Robert Greenberger I honestly do not believe in writer's block. You may be stumped at some point in. Project but that just means you need to take a break and let your mind work on it. This is when you pick up the next project or read, or walk, or call a friend.
