Yes. I have a free novel on my website - Liberators of Media. It is the backstory of why the city is in lockdown to protect the non-magical people from those with magic. I also have a map of the city of Media available.

I have a vivid imagination and tend to escape the challenges of real life with stories. My family has encouraged me to publish for years, but my Ex would always dismiss me. I divorced and decided to pursue my dream. My book Blue Haven was actually a book that I developed based on my therapy. My therapist suggested that the only way to heal after a 27-year narcissistic marriage was to be able to imagine and picture what a healthy relationship would look like. That built that book. I had grown up reading about all the toxic relationships, and when I had my chance to find love, I found one. I hope to show what healthy relationships would look like while still being steamy.

In the world of Mordovia, there are 3 types of magic, but for the book Escape from Media, we meet the main type of magic - Living Magic. Living Magic works in the same way that the Force works. It exists and it is alive. Our bodies are vessels. Some vessels can hold a lot and others don't. A person can train and draw more magic, through practice and learning how to communicate with magic. If you don't use the magic, it may decide not to stay with you and leave. In some cases, it buries itself so deeply in who you are that when it leaves, your body cannot continue living and you die. The magic suppressors that the non-magical people in Media created produce a vibration within them that magic does not like and it leaves the body, or in the case of some people, it traps the magic with in the person and torments the person, eventually causing them to go mad with all the voices in their head. Magic speaks each of it's own languages, so learning how to speak with one type of magic does not mean you can speak to another. If a person was chipped with a suppressor and had it removed, the body goes through a transformation where the magic (if it was trapped) calls to the other magics and the magical space is open season to take over. Typically, the magic that is genetically passed down is there, but other times, other new magic can take hold. The different types of magic battle within the person to fight for the limited space within each vessel. At times, the person they are fighting within is not strong enough to withstand that battle and they die before the magical occupation is settled. It is not as often as when magic leaves though, but it does happen, especially when a vessel (one of us) is particularly strong.
The other two systems are learned, think study only and forcing the living magic to do as told, not trying to become one with magic. Not being a vessel for magic, but using the free magic in the world that has not found homes and learning how to control it - when it isn't in the person.
Another type is ancesteral. This is more like controlling ghosts of the dead. These are the souls of the people who passed - and sometimes their magic - to get those souls to do as the magic user wants. This is very ritualistic and symbol based magic.
In each of these systems, it is possible to tattoo symbols that direct the magic of that type to know that if they see that symbol - they have this job. It is when the tattoo artist had powers and the tattoos include the ability to do something - but the person with the tattoo cannot control it - these are key for things like - luck spells, protection, guarding, giving the user higher level of hearing, or something like that. The user can't turn it on or off, but it is there, as long as the tattoo is there.
In rare cases, the magic between two people can be so strong, that they bond with a mark that is on both people. This is showing that their magic has connected and works together. In this case, the people involved still has a short time to break that bond, but once they solidify, their souls are linked through magic. This can be thought of as a soulmate, though it could also be relative, or very close friends.

Yes! I'm going to immerse readers in the first book in the Media vs Aloria Series called Escape from Media. The series starts with a Dystopian Fantasy Romance set in the city of Media. In this book, people with magic are being suppressed, which has high likelihoodof death. A haunted smuggler must help a little girl and her doctor mother grt out of the city, before they are found. Liberators of Media is the free novela (Dystopian fantasy) that kicks things off showing the history of what happened in the city to make them want to suppress the magical people, when magical people enslaved non-magicals.
