Alex Vrettos They could come from anywhere - something someone says, another book or movie. A story usually starts with an idea or concept such as 'what if...?' after that a world starts to unfold in my mind where such an idea is best explored followed by some characters who best qualified to investigate on my behalf. The Hereafter was about exploring the sci-fi idea of an artificial afterlife in context of our own world and I Am You grew out of my curiosity of near death experiences are rarely identical one person to the next.
Alex Vrettos I am a big fan of Iain M. Banks and Alistair Reynolds. I have read about the idea of an artificial afterlife for more advanced and alien civilisations than ours so I wondered what such a development would do to the world in which we live. The Hereafter is an exploration of that.

Alex Vrettos Age Of Games. Very close to completion. It's about a futuristic society based literally on a game but a game that is of course riddled with corruption. Jack is sent on a journey to win the game in the name of humanity.
