Dawn Kunda I would like to go somewhere in the past, for sure, between early 1900's and 1800's. My favorite places would be either in the US or in England. I appreciate the freedom of the US to be whatever you endeavor and England is mystical (to me). I think I would like to be a scientist. A scientist that researches (discovers?) ways to use our earth in a healthy manner.
Dawn Kunda I actually do have a list! Right now, I'm reading "The Robber Bride" by Margaret Atwood. My selection is all over the board, so it depends on my mood each time I start a book. I have "Red Havoc Bad Cat" by T.S, Joyce, "The Billionaire Werewolf's Witch" by Celia Kyle, several non-fiction about the CIA, and "Sting" by Sandra Brown.
I definitely wish to read more than that, so my list will grow as I hunt for other fun and interesting reads.
Dawn Kunda I love your question! The first thing that came to mind isn't a mystery (as nothing is in my own life), but an incident at Heathrow International Airport in London.
On a form everyone fills out, it includes "What's your job?" I wrote "govt." I do work for the government, but it's not anything top secret. The agent looked me up and down, I smiled innocently, and I decided maybe I pushed the "covert" entertainment a little too far. He asked a few more questions, then let me go through the gate.
For some reason I felt like a bit of mischief would be fun. This was three years ago, a day after England's terror alert went up a notch.
Because I write suspense, I could use this action in a serious manner...matter of fact, I think I will. My next romantic suspense is set in the UK.

Dawn Kunda Rhett Butler and Scarlet O'Hara. Probably not too unique of an answer, but Gone With the Wind is a classic and unforgettable story with a fantastic historical thesis.
I've enjoyed numerous other fictional couples, although I haven't found any that stick in my mind hundreds of books later.
Also, where couples are typically found are in romances, and they have one story. Once a "couple" is formed, they do not have another story making it harder to remember much later.
Thanks for the question!
Dawn Kunda There are many great things about being a writer, but I'd have to say it's being able to use my whole life, experiences, knowledge, mistakes, imagination, and everything that goes through my mind to write a story o one else will ever come up with!
Thank you for the question!
Dawn Kunda I haven't come across writer's block yet, but I believe it's because when I get to a scene that I have "issues" with, I keep writing even if I know I will have to change a sentence, paragraph, or scene later when I edit.
I also try to keep more ideas flowing than I need to use. This way, I can improvise, mix and match, or get an inspiration to keep the story moving in an active and exciting way.
Thanks for the great question!
Dawn Kunda I think the best advice, as I heard it when I started, is to write what you're interested in. Also, definitely join a critique group or have writing partners. One more thing, learn the trade which can be done by joining writing groups specific to your genre. I belong to Romance Writers of America. There are ten thousand members world wide and just as many great minds to share.
Dawn Kunda I'm editing the second of the series, From the CIA. I haven't landed on a title yet.
I'm also constructing the third book in my mind and on clips of paper. I recently returned from a tour of the United Kingdom and am full of thoughts to organize.
Dawn Kunda Creating characters that are real is a great rush. I can make them do things and many times they go their own way. That is incredibly fun.
Dawn Kunda Many of the ideas float into my head possibly by osmosis, but I also keep up on current events. My books are romantic suspense, so knowing what problems occur in the world helps me to think of conflicts.
