Hi, Paula!
Thanks for your question!
I've been writing seriously for about seventeen years. My first book that was published was my novella The Language of Souls back in 2010 with Sweet Rose Press (and then republished by Indigo Road in 2012).
I hope you enjoy the Brides series! I've really enjoyed writing it.
If you like mail-order bride stories, I have a new standalone short novel coming out soon, Sweet Briar Rose, which is now available for pre-order on Amazon.
Thanks again,
Lena
PS sorry about the delay answering! I didn't see your question until just now. <3

Hi, Miriam! That's so nice to hear! I'm so glad you're enjoying the series. Yes, I'm thinking about future books in the series and am exploring the lives of several characters. And there will be some new faces too. :)

Writing a book is a lot like gathering shells on the beach. Something catches my eye and I pick it up. Then something else catches my attention. At first nothing fits together. But eventually there's a pile and connections start to form, making a picture of sorts. This can be a conscious process of researching things of interest, ex. history, settings. And other times it's more like serendipity. You're not looking for inspiration, but it sparks unexpectedly. It feels like I've been handed a gift. Ex. One shell is an interest in Colorado. Another is an interest in communication disabilities. Another is a stray image of a train, we get a puppy, life changes, we lose loved ones, experience grief,... And so on. The coming together of all these disparate things along with characters who take on a life of their own is a kind of magic to me.

Book 2 in the Brides series, The Bartered Bride, set in Colorado Springs. This is Jem and Annie's story.
