In the fiction I read, relationships tend to be dysfunctional. I prefer couples who are willing to work to overcome their problems (examples in Ren Garcia's LoE series,) and I'm still looking for a "favourite couple". They'll be non-traditional, complimentary characters with strengths and flaws, who bring out the best in one another. I also would want to see their relationship reach a balance point - a parity of power - after some conflict and growth.

Life inspires me. I'm compelled to write and my surroundings and experiences trigger ideas for stories: a day at the beach, a moving song, something a friend says in passing can all spawn a story idea. I can never tell what's going to prompt me to write.

My most recent book, the third in my Snowy Barrens Trilogy, The Blood Flows True, was primarily inspired by a love of nature and fantasy combined with the influence of various tribal fiction fantasy novels I read growing up and a fascination with North American native mythology.
