If I find a lack of motivation or desire to push through with clarity on a writing piece. I step away, but take a little with me. I try to think of a few core concepts I want to explore in the story and then take these concepts somewhere else, to a different environment. Ex: If I am concerned about spouse abuse, I might read some crime stats, I might go to an exhibition dealing with it. If my story is about survival: I might view similar environmental pictures, equipment, medical conditions.
A different window or point of view can be the trick to stumble forward and then race full speed ahead.
