The search for the identities of my mother's birth parents. I still don't know who they are. My mother was resistant to sharing this information with me and though I've done a DNA test, I haven't yet found connections that have led me to them, only to their ethnicities.

The essence of the story came from a dream wherein I found my (dream) mother in bed with my (dream) husband. At the core of this novel is a fractured relationship between a narcissistic mother and her daughter. The dream was a manifestation of the competitive, distrustful dynamic between these characters.
