During the Covid quarantine in 2020, I had time to spare - like everyone else - and I thought, "Well, instead of wasting the next month staring longingly out of the window, let's see if I can write a book within that time!" After about two seconds of reflection, I decided to write about a boy in Colonial America... and that's how The Weight of Chains came to life! Eighteenth century North America has always interested me, so I was probably reading about it when I made that decision!
