J.C. Andrijeski Ugh, I never saw this, I'm so sorry (I'm literally never on Goodreads, unfortunately). I hope you got your answer from me in a different way (and a looong time ago). For the current answer, I have another book planned either towards the end of this year, or early next year. Huge apologies that I never got back to you on here!
J.C. Andrijeski Hey! Not all of them, no, but most of them! The books/series that are connected most directly (that occur in the Seer Worlds) are: the Bridge and Sword Series, the Quentin Black Mystery Series, the Vampire Detective Midnight Series, and the Seer Wars series. There's also a slight connection between the Angels in L.A. series and Light & Shadow. I hope this helps! :)
J.C. Andrijeski Hey, yes! It will continue! I'm hoping to have the next installment out in a few months. I'm working on the next Quentin Black Mystery at the moment, but it's the book I will be writing / releasing after that one. :) And huge apologies for the delay! Last year was kind of a weird one for me - surgery, a number of months abroad, and so on. Thanks so much for asking, and for reading!
J.C. Andrijeski I'll be perfectly honest... those books just didn't sell. I can't really afford to work on series that no one is reading, since this is my only form of income right now. I had it in my plans to go back and revise / rework books #1-2 and relaunch the series so that it's more aligned with branding / etc. of my other series, but I haven't been able to take out the time in my schedule to do it. Generally speaking, people want new books, not old ones, even if they are reworked extensively. :)

J.C. Andrijeski Hey there! Sorry to have left you hanging with Nick! I won't get back to that PARTICULAR part of Nick's story until this fall (2019), when I planning to release Quentin Black #11.

...that being said, I'm actually releasing a brand new series that features Nick before that, in June. It's set far in the future, so won't answer your immediate questions about where I left Nick in Quentin Black #10, but it should clear up a few things about Nick in general. :)

Hope this helps! And thanks so much for writing!

J.C. Andrijeski Oh, jeez... I'm so sorry I never saw this!!! Apparently I don't always get a notice when questions come in, huge apologies!

Right now, the next Quentin Black book (#11) is scheduled for Fall 2019. Apologies for the delay, but there's a reason for it... I have a new series starting in June that is a spinoff from QB, and so there's some sequencing happening.

Oh! And if you didn't see, Quentin Black #10.5, "Black Dreams" just came out in a box set with 7 other authors called "Hunters and Prey." It's a full length novel and starts right where #10 left off.

Again, huge apologies that I didn't see this until now!
J.C. Andrijeski Hey, thank you so much!! I'm so glad you're enjoying my books! :) That's awesome! I admit, I'm not sure which series you mean (it doesn't show us on here, just the question), but if you meant the Bridge & Sword series, you'll be getting the next installment in about a week and a half. If you meant the Quentin Black series, it's going to be a few months, sorry. I will point out that there are TWO Quentin Black series, however, so if you just read the first four books (BLACK IN WHITE, BLACK AS NIGHT, BLACK ON BLACK, BLACK IS BACK), then look for "Quentin Black: Shadow Wars" and you'll find 2 more books. :) Hope this helps!!
J.C. Andrijeski Jeez, this is a hard one. Right now I'm reading the Outlander series, so Jamie and Claire are way up on the list. Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett. I loved Zoey and Wash on Firefly (and Mal and Inara too, although they made me want to shake both of them, and I'm mad the series ended before they got their crazy figured out). Angel and Buffy. Andy Dwyer and April on Parks and Rec. Rhett and Scarlett. Steve Morgan and Ginny. Han and Leia. Joe Pike and his ex-partner's wife. I can think of more heros / heroines I've loved (and same-sex bromances and femromances) than romantic couples, for some reason. Unfortunately a lot of books I've loved, the couples haven't fared so well. :(

J.C. Andrijeski Haha - danged observant readers!! And naughty, too. And no, you haven't missed anything. As to whether it means anything, well, at this point I can't tell you that. As to whether that's me answering your question indirectly or not, I'll leave that up to you. ;)
J.C. Andrijeski Hey there! Sorry I'm getting to this a bit late. Yes! There will be a 10th book - and I'm so sorry that it's been so long in the works. It got postponed for a year for various reasons, but I'm now planning to have it out in Spring / Early Summer of 2017. I'm in the midst of rebranding the series right now, so hopefully all of it will be done at the same time. And thank you so much for reading!! I'm thrilled you've liked the books so far (and that you read them all 3x, that's awesome!!). Have you checked out the prequel books? That's the only thing I can suggest in the meantime (or the spinoff series, Quentin Black Mystery). Best wishes!! JC
J.C. Andrijeski Hey, so sorry I'm seeing this a bit late! First off, yay!! So glad you love the books! Makes my day. :) As far as how many of them, honestly, I don't know, lol. I'm trying to write them so that they each work as standalones (although obviously they work better if you read them in order), so that gives me a bit more freedom, since they work more like a mystery series in that sense. So I'm leaving it somewhat open at this point. As for the next book, I'm planning to have one out in Nov/Dec. Thanks so much for writing!
J.C. Andrijeski Hey there! Sorry about the confusion - I actually got rid of the episode format because it was just too confusing for people. I'd thought since they were such long books it might be more digestible in a shorter format, so breaking them up into episodes was kind of an experiment. But (like you) it was just too cumbersome for most people to figure out. So the order of the series is this:

Rook (Allie's War Book One)
Shield (Allie's War Book Two)
Sword (Allie's War Book Three)
Shadow (Allie's War Book Four)
Knight (Allie's War Book Five)
War (Allie's War Book Six)
Bridge (Allie's War Book Seven)
Prophet (Allie's War Book Eight)
Dragon (Allie's War Book Nine)
Sun (Allie's War Book Ten) - TBD Spring 2016

There are also prequel books, which were written in the following order but can more or less be read in any order. They aren't necessary to the main arc but provide a fair bit of backstory in some areas:

New York
Revik
Terian
Birth
London
Kirev's Door (this is also a bridging novel to a new series I have, that's a spinoff from the main series)

Hope this helps!! And apologies for the confusion!

Best,
JC
J.C. Andrijeski I don't really get writer's block, honestly. I get story/novel/project block, however, which maybe is the same thing. Usually it means I need thinking or processing time of one kind or another to work out some aspect of the story that's stuck or "feels off" or whatever. Depending on how it hits, I might do one of several things: work on a different project for awhile, exercise, meditate, go for a walk, call a friend. Usually the key for me is to stop obsessing long enough to let the subconscious bubble up and make new connections. Sometimes brainstorming with another writer can get me there, too, even if I don't end up using any of the specific things we talked about.
J.C. Andrijeski I love being a writer, honestly. I love making up worlds and people and whole histories and mythologies and political systems and conflicts...I love the work itself, the fact that I can live anywhere in the world and make my own hours. I love that I can study the most arcane topics and file it away as "research." I love being my own boss. I'm one of those writers who will literally will never be able to tell all of the stories I want to tell before I die, so I can't imagine ever doing anything else, given the choice. I just have to avoid senility...otherwise I'll do it until I die. (Note to self: "avoid senility." Check.)
J.C. Andrijeski Honestly, this is going to vary pretty widely depending on when you ask me...but also whatever stage the person's in as a writer and what their goals are. If you're a beginning writer and still in the skill-building stage then I'd give the standard advice...just write. Write a lot. Read a lot. Experiment. Work with other writers (those you trust) if you can. Don't be afraid to throw stuff away.

If you're writing primarily for money, then I'd have very different things to say than if money was a secondary thing, (and/or if your money requirements are relatively modest).

With all of the turmoil in publishing right now, I would definitely advise aspiring writers to "keep the drama on the page," as in...write and network with other writers and be friendly and learn from people but don't get too caught up in the politics going on in the writing community. But that would be true of most professions, I think.
J.C. Andrijeski I'm working on a novella for a series called "Uncollected Anthology" called Kirev's Door. It's shaping up to be a bridging story between my Allie's War series and a possible spin-off I'm considering, so a lot of fun!
