I love hearing from readers. As much as I enjoy writing, my real goal is to encourage and/or inspire people who are facing difficulties in life. One of my inspirational poems was used for a greeting card that was distributed internationally. I have heard from people as far away as Australia, and each one has told me a story about how the poem had encouraged them (or a loved one) as they faced a crisis.
For me, that felt like validation, and it in turn encouraged me to continue writing. In fact, I was contacted once by a gentleman who had purchased the greeting card for his son. He wrote me a wonderful, long letter to explain what the car had meant to both of them...but what he didn't know was I had just come home from the hospital following heart surgery. His words encouraged me!
So...being a writer gives me an opportunity to reach out to others and connect with people I may never meet, but I hope we can connect heart-to-heart.

'Chicken Soup for the Soul - Hope & Miracles' was published February 2015. I am pleased to say I contributed a story, "Embracing a Second Chance".
I have just finished writing 'LIFE CHANGES -- Dealing With Life Through Prayer'. This is my first non-fiction book and I'm so pleased that my husband is the co-author of this very personal endeavor. We hope that our experience with reconnecting to God through prayer will help others, people who are searching for their own answers.
'Helping Hands' is my first Christian romance novel (without a mystery subplot). I am currently finishing the final edit and plan to publish this story in time for Christmas.
Stay tuned...I'll be sharing more information about both books in the near future.

If you want to write, WRITE. Stop thinking about it and just do it. Try to write something every day, whether it is for publication or just to help you hone your writing skills.
If you want to write a book, begin by making notes. Writing doesn't start when you put pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard...it begins with an idea. Keep a notepad or recorder with you at all times. Decide what your story will be and make an outline.
When you're ready, WRITE. Work on your first draft without editing...that will come later.
