I draw inspiration from many different places, from talks with coworkers to a news item, to dreams, to a movie or a show on TV. When inspiration strikes, it usually does so hard and fast, and there will be a feverish session of jotting down handwritten notes or typing up a storm.
Sometimes keeping inspiration is tough, but I get myself ready for it by rereading what I've already written and brainstorming new ideas. My books are really never far from my mind, and every so often, a plot idea or a solution to a problem will just pop into my head, at which point the feverish writing or typing will commence.

I have no idea. If you figure it out, let me know! I am in the throes of a bit of a block at the moment, and my only answer would be to always keep thinking. Twist the plot and refocus on what you want your story to be, then hone in on what's holding you up. Often, I find I get writer's block when I need to do more research. If that's the case, I'll work on parts of my book that would go after that, and get it out while it's still fresh. It's a good way to keep making progress despite writer's block.

The best thing about being a writer? Being able to share your thoughts and dreams and hopes and wishes with the public. Being able to speak without uttering a word and moving the masses. Leaving a legacy behind for future generations. Knowing that in some form, my words will live on long after I'm gone. It's a stunning, humbling thing to realize.

Don't take yourself too seriously, but try to earn as much as you can about the craft and mechanics of writing. An book can have the most amazing plot ever, but if it's riddled with typos and run-on sentences and misspellings, it can take away from that plot and cause people to stop reading and/or leave bad reviews.
And of course, don't ever give up in the face of rejection or bad reviews. They will happen, probably more than once. Just keep at it, because it's one of the toughest and most rewarding things a person can ever do.

I'm hard at work on another Johns Creek book, followed by the second in the Lust series, Wanderlust.
