D.M. Pirrone Tough choice...there are so many that would be so fascinating. I've been re-reading Terry Pratchett lately, so I think I'd travel to Discworld and take witching lessons from Nanny Ogg and Granny Weatherwax--two of my favorite characters from Pratchett's novels.
D.M. Pirrone One book on my reading list is A GIRL LIKE YOU, first in a new mystery series by Michelle Cox, set in 1930s Chicago. Another one is LAST CALL, a nonfiction book about Prohibition that I'll be reading for background on a possible new series I'd like to write (1920s Chicago setting). I also need to catch up on the fourth book in the Lucy Campion series by friend and fellow mystery writer Susanna Calkins--A DEATH ALONG THE RIVER FLEET. Her books are really excellent, especially for history nerds and Anglophiles like me!
D.M. Pirrone Great question! I'm an adoptee, and I only know a little about my birth mother...nothing at all about the paternal side. Lots of room there for a mystery, either contemporary or historical if I wanted to use that situation in a different time period.

I kind of used this in my first book, NO LESS IN BLOOD, but there are a lot of potential variations. Thanks--you've got me thinking!
