Take some time and don't think about writing. Then go to your sphere of influence. Music is a big one for me. I'll hear a song and I feel a need to continue writing. But it's different for everyone. Go on a hike, watch a movie marathon, splurge on a good meal; All writers should have a way to get back to the base of the writers urge.

At the time, I had only two daughters, and their interactions inspired me to write characters based on them. It is more the energy between them that I've based the characters on, less their actual personalities. I then started to create a world of witchcraft around them.
