D.J. Power I spent six years in the Marine Corps and two years in Vietnam. I saw a lot of stuff going on before the Vietnam War and even more during the war. It's something that I thought should be told and to put a story to it even makes it much better.
D.J. Power When I wake up in the morning if I don't feel like writing I don't. I think about a lot of things but never put them down on paper. I've been blessed with a great memory and a even bigger imagination.
D.J. Power I am currently in the middle of the second book of the trilogy. I have found that this book is much harder than the first one. I am a perfectionist and I want this book, "A Shooter's Moon" to be much better and more exciting than the first one, "Tears of an Assassin."
D.J. Power Don't ever give up is the advice I have for aspiring writers. Don't listen to the negative. Think positive when you're writing and always try your best even if it comes slower than you think it should. If this is what you want to do with your life, don't let anyone talk you out of it.
D.J. Power The best thing about being a writer is that you can put down on paper all the thoughts you've been having for a long time. It enables you to go back in time and remember all the things that maybe have been in hiding.
D.J. Power I got writer's block about 100 pages from the end. I tried to fight through it but I just couldn't come up with anything good for the finish. I pushed back and forgot the book for about 10 days. One morning I just got up and sat down at the computer and started all up again. I think just pushing back and letting it rest for awhile worked for me.
