Sheryl Steines I hate to say it but I'd probably go to the world of Harry Potter. There's just something so light and fun about Hogwarts, and Hogsmeade. I know is that so obvious?
Sheryl Steines Chaos by Patricia Cornwell. I'll switch to easy summer reads when I'm done with that. Any suggestions?
Sheryl Steines I sit and watch television. Usually a documentary about Greek Mythology, folk lore, or legends. Something usually hits me as I watch. If that doesn't work, I sit down with my computer in my lap and stare at the story and just write the first thing that comes to me. If it doesn't work I can always delete it in the next draft.
Sheryl Steines I'm not a plotter. When I write I'm a pantser. Meaning I have a rough idea of the story, the beginning, the end and I write by the seat of my pants, letting the story unfold itself. I get surprised like the reader would. For me, the best thing about being a writers is when the story in the end manages to work out better than had I planned it. It's rewarding and exciting.
Sheryl Steines Write something every day whether it is one sentence, one paragraph, a chapter or short story. Hone your craft every day.

Second thing - read. If you don't have time to read, you don't have time to write. Reading other writers is a great way to learn the craft.
Sheryl Steines I'm currently waiting for book two of the Annie and Cham series called Black Market, to come back from the editor. In the meantime, I'm working on book three and it would be a spoiler for book one if I gave the name.
