The gullibility of some people. While in the service I played a practical joke on another serviceman. I made up a stereo tape recording of the sound effects of a flying saucer landing then in a few moments taking off again. The building we were in was partially buried without windows. As soon as he heard the takeoff sequence he ran to the other end of the building like a bullet to the exit. By the time I reached the surface he was jumping up and down in a field of weeds we tamped down earlier within a large circle. He was yelling "It was here! It was here! And thee it goes!" He pointed to Venus that was just setting in the West. That was serendipitous! We had no idea that Venus would be in that position. We showed him what we did and played the tape for him later and he just said, "The aliens came back and brainwash you!" To my knowledge, he never budged from his belief that he witnessed a UFO.
