Jeffrey Brown I've tried to set up a really strong work ethic so that when I do get writer's block, it's easier to work my way through it. Sometimes I take a break, try to work on something else, or even just catch up on some reading or with movies on my to-see list. It's also important to not panic, and pressure yourself more - it just comes with the territory, and if you've been good about writing regularly, you'll get past it.
Jeffrey Brown Getting to sit around all day writing?
Jeffrey Brown 1. Read everything you can, whether you like it or not, read all different kinds of things.
2. Meet authors and talk to them, at book signings, conventions, write letters, or read interviews with them.
3. Send your work out for feedback from more than just friends and family.
4. The most important thing: write! Write as much as you can, all the time. Keep working and build up that body of work, practice, learn your craft and get better.
Jeffrey Brown Jedi Academy 3, another Darth Vader series book, a middle grade series about Neanderthals called Lucy & Andy Neanderthal. Those are the main projects, for now!
Jeffrey Brown Observing life is probably the biggest inspiration, followed by looking at art, reading, watching films, and listening to music.
Jeffrey Brown I kept hearing from parents who were reading Darth Vader and Son and Vader's Little Princess to their kids at bedtime, so I thought I should just make a proper Star Wars bedtime book. I didn't want to make just another Goodnight Moon parody, so I took the opportunity to draw a lot of the characters, creatures, and scenes I didn't draw in the other books. Like a little tour of the Star Wars universe going to bed.
