Lisa Ricard Claro I've read several books by Louise Penny this past summer. I'm currently reading The Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley.
Lisa Ricard Claro I'd travel to my own fictional world of Bright Hills, GA, home of the FIREFLIES series, so I could enjoy a day at the mountains with the characters I created. I think it would be a hoot to meet them all in person!
Lisa Ricard Claro I stepped on the scale this morning. It wasn't pretty. (Does that count? :) )
Lisa Ricard Claro Oh, my gosh, Martha, I literally JUST saw this question! I'm so sorry! Love to Win released in July of 2016.
Lisa Ricard Claro Hi Terry! *waves* I'm a hybrid. I start out plotting, write an outline, etc., but usually around chapter three the characters surprise me with something and I'm forced to modify. The outline becomes more of a rough suggestion, and I roll with it. I can see how plotting every chapter and scene would make the writing go faster. To this point, though, I've not been able to stick with it. As to the focus, I don't know how to answer that. I start writing and sink into the scene. Most of the time I find it hard to come up for air!
Lisa Ricard Claro The eBook and Print versions are both available for purchase at Amazon, B&N, and wherever books are sold.
Lisa Ricard Claro I can't speak for anyone else, because everyone has a different approach, but for me there is no real writer's block. Writer's block in my world looks and acts a lot like procrastination, something at which I excel. Best remedy: Sit down and get to work.
Lisa Ricard Claro There are too many good things to name. Connecting with readers is awesome, and the joy of creating characters and stories cannot be understated.
Lisa Ricard Claro Write, write, write. Attend workshops and conferences, learn your craft, network with other writers. Don't listen to anyone who tells you "you can't."
Lisa Ricard Claro My current project is the third book in the Fireflies series, "Love to Win." It is Brenna and Dante's story. The characters are present in all three books, so they were ready to have their love story told.
Lisa Ricard Claro I learned a long time ago not to wait for inspiration. I get to work, and the more I write the better it flows. A good cup of coffee doesn't hurt though. :)
Lisa Ricard Claro The first book in the Fireflies series, "Love Built to Last," releases on June 20, 2015 with Black Opal Books. Maddie and Caleb's story actually began life as an award-winning short story that I turned into a full length novel. It's the story of a young widow who believes her dead husband gives her advice, and a protective single father afraid to take a risk on love. They both need to learn about letting go, and holding on.
