Andy Hamilton Believe it or not, I felt like the words floated past me and I had to grab them. It was the oddest feeling. There in front of my the words "New Wild Order" were.
Andy Hamilton I love many aspects of it, watching an idea form on a page, sitting in places and waiting for inspiration, keeping notebooks, editing (never thought I'd say that), reading, meeting other writers and experimenting.
Andy Hamilton I know it's sickening, but I'm quite content with where I am now. But it would be good to know what it feels like to be the wind or a cloud. I'm not sure if I've ever seen that in a book.
Andy Hamilton I don't have a summer reading list. I have a constant reading pile. At the moment I'm getting into the idea of staying local. So I'm going to pick up a copy of the Oak Papers and Grounded by James Canton.
Andy Hamilton How does my kitchen go from being tidy to be a tip in such a short space of time?
Andy Hamilton Always a bunch of things. Right now, I'm trying to work up new ideas about the outdoor whilst being outdoors. I just spent an hour sitting on a bench writing about three trees in the park.
Andy Hamilton I'll give you a one sentence one - "Andy had to get a real job". - terrifying.
Andy Hamilton Writer's block is a luxury that I can't afford to have. I've never quite understood it. There are times when I procrastinate, especially at the start of a project or when I'm returning to one but this is thinking time and highly valuable.

I just feel that I'm blessed to be able to make a living from my words and I value you that enough to keep writing.
Andy Hamilton I've learned to sit with an idea for a while. I keep all my old notebooks and will sometimes return to them. I've never been short of ideas, the trick is sifting out the good ones. To do this, I talk to others about my ideas, favouring the people who's opinion I really rate.
Andy Hamilton Get someone whose opinion you trust to read your work and give you feedback.
