Hi, Robyn!
Thanks for letting me know you're enjoying the books. For the Edgars series, the settings are real places. I grew up in Columbus and my husband is from near Cleveland. Where do pull information from? Well, sometimes newspaper stories, sometimes people I know, but mostly, I have a vivid imagination and love to ask, "What if...?" I think the key to a good story is writing characters that make me and you guys care about them. As an RN, I've seen people in all kinds of stressful situations, seen the happy and sad, the good and the bad in people. Often, I use those emotions and reactions for my characters and then let them take me where they want to go. :)

Hi, Debbie!
Yes, there will be more Westen books. Currently I'm writing CLOSE TO THE HEART, which will be the story of Daniel and Melissa. You got to see some of them in CLOSE TO DANGER. Little Lexie will be a big part of that story, too.

Hi, Jennifer! I'm thrilled that you've loved the Westen books. To answer your question, yes, there is more to Wes and Chloe's story. I'm working on it right now and it's titled Close To Danger. Happy reading and try to get some sleep!

Joanna and Gabriel from Julie Garwood's SAVING GRACE. She has a fear of big men and being under the control of a man. He slowly wins her trust by allowing her freedom to think and act like the Laird's wife, while always having her back and protecting her. They make me laugh, too!

Jennifer,
Yes, Wes and Chloe are getting their own book. I know I left everyone wondering about them at the end of CLOSE TO CHRISTMAS but sometimes a story needs to have time to grow in my mind before I can tackle it. Their book is titled CLOSE TO DANGER and I'm happy to tell you and other readers that I've started writing on that book. I don't have a release date, but since it's a big book, I'd look for it sometime in the spring of 2017.
Happy reading,
Suzanne

Hi, Renee! So glad you've enjoyed the Edgars Family books. Yes, I do plan to write more books in that series. Since I've run out of siblings to write about, I wanted to broaden the reach for the RS books and therefore switched them to the private security business. Also, I have some secondary characters I'd like to write about, beginning with Brianna and Noah from VANISHED. Then there's the Edgars' cousin Zoe.

Hi, Cenaida,
Glad you've enjoyed the Edgars Family books. I will be writing more in that series, although it may be taking on a new title. Haven't quite decided yet. With Jake opening a private security firm, the possibilities for story lines has blossomed.

Wow, there are so many. It sort of depends on what kind of mood I'm in. If I'm in the mood to rock it could be "Fat Bottom Girls" by Queen. If I'm in a mellow kind of mood it could be "Smooth Operator" by Sade. And I love to write to a combination of Phil Collins, Steely Dan and the sound track from Last Of The Mohicans.

A long nap. A hot shower. Ironing. I let my brain rest and do it's subconscious work...usually the ideas to solve my problem show up when I'm not writing and especially when I'm not working to think them through. Sometimes, just continuing to write and let the characters "figure it out".

Read. Read everything you can. Read in the subgenre you write in. Read in genres you don't write in. Read newspapers. Read poetry. Read non-fiction books on writing. Read non-fiction books for research. The more you put into your suitcase, the more things you'll have to draw from when it's time to write.
Write. Write every day. Plan to write. Write at the kitchen table. Write while you're sitting at your child's sports/music lessons. Write on your lunch break at work. Learn to edit and be willing to cut out words you've written. Understand the craft of telling good stories. But you must write everyday.
Observe. Go on walks and notice the nature around you. Go on trips and wonder at the different people, places and sights. Sit in a coffee shop or cafe and watch the people around you. Then play the "what if?" game.

I've currently got two books in progress, Close To The Fire and Close To Christmas. Close To The Fire is a full length book, over 80,000 words. It will be released in October. And Close To Christmas is a novella I hope to have out.... :) yeah, close to Christmas.

Deke Reynolds was a secondary character from Close To The Edge. He'd been injured in a fire and had scars on his neck and jaw, along with slightly damaged vocal chords. There was a story there. When I started writing Close To The Fire, I knew he would be the hero. What surprised me was the woman he'd left behind a decade earlier when he was injured. Elizabeth "LIbby" Wilson is the county social worker we met in Close To Home. So this is a lovers reunited story.
