I would travel to Cannery Row and drink beer with Doc and Suzy

I like Doc and Suzy from Steinbeck’s Sweet Thursday. That is my favorite novel, largely because I think it is the sweetest love story I’ve ever read. I like the improbability of these two outcasts coming together, and the way love affects the way they behave-quite out of character for each of them. The effect of their coming together on the community of misfits is touching, and the ending is a wonderful affirmation of the power and hope of love.

I don't, really. I am just committed to writing, and if you sit down and begin to write, ideas will emerge and following an uncharted path is one of the great pleasures of writing.

I just finished my second novel and am trying to find a publisher. I am submitting and working on a marketing plan for the book.

Don't get too caught up in being a writer. Write - unless you do that, you aren't a writer, and there are many people more interested in being a writer than in writing.

I sit down and write everyday, at the same time. Some days I write very little, some days a lot, but the discipline or habit of doing it every day keeps me moving forward. I don't always write well, but I always write.
