Kathy McCullough Well, my brother and I are both certain the basement in our first house was wanted. It was the "playroom" and we had an old TV down there. We would see a hand creep up from behind it now and then. Very scary. Never there when our parents came down. I'm not sure I could write about it, though! Just thinking about it is disturbing. Did we just have wild imaginations? Then why did we BOTH see it???
Kathy McCullough I have an ambitious list (for me), with books from three categories:

1. Books on my shelves I haven't read yet (since I need to make room!):
Below Stairs - Margaret Powell
Unaccustomed Earth - Jhumpa Lahiri
Travels with my Aunt - Graham Greene
From the Ground Up - Amy Stewart
The Loneliness of the Long-Distance Runner - Alan Sillitoe
The Orchard - Adele Crockett Robertson
You Are Not a Stranger Here - Adam Haslett

2. Not on my shelves, but that I've read or heard about and think I'd like (and if I have time to get to them this summer):
Saints for All Occasions - J. Courtney Sullivan
No One Can Pronounce My Name - Rakesh Satyal
The Best of Adam Sharp - Graeme Simsion
Things Like the Truth - Ellen Gilchrist

3. Whatever my book group picks for June, July & August. (We recently read Lab Girl by Hope Jahren, which is my favorite book of the year so far...)
Kathy McCullough I'm alternating among a couple of different novels, including an adult novel and a middle grade.
