Reading inspired me to write! I read over 30 books in 2020 and found myself impressed by the authors I encountered and how many people had such an amazing talent. My husband also challenged me to write a book for fun and I couldn't turn him down. If he had never dared me to write a book, I would never have done it.

I am currently working on edits and the cover design of my second novel! It's the most fun, yet most challenging part to me because it engages me in a way that drafting can't. There is so much more fear when you are close to the end of the process!

My advice to aspiring writers is to stop thinking about it, stop writing random sentences and thoughts in journals, and just grab your keyboard and start. Take action and make yourself do it. Notebooks/journals are where good ideas go to die. Put all your thoughts together while you're actually writing it and don't get hung up on your idea of what your narrative was originally supposed to be.

The creative challenge of writing is the best thing and it is so wonderfully fulfilling! I have found inspiration in areas of life, situations, and conversations that I never imagined I would since writing! I encourage everyone around me to attempt to write even a paragraph of something they never imagined they would just because I have enjoyed it so much and I want to see if other people feel the same way!

I solve the problem with a new playlist! When I write, I stick to three main playlists and when I need a boost, I change it to something completely opposite! I also have completely stepped away from my laptop before, wasted an hour on Instagram, and then returned back to my manuscript (refreshed? recharged?). Only the reviews will tell!

I am doing a ton of writing/editing this summer, so I haven't read as many books as I'd like to! I have read a few though and have stuck to my favorite genre: contemporary romance! I've read Sally Thorne's latest: Second First Impressions, and Emily Henry's: People We Meet on Vacation. My latest read was Meet You in the Middle by Devon Daniels- I loved it! And don't tell my mom, but I've read almost the entire Bridgerton series as well! Lots of fun; because who wants to do overly serious books when it's sunny out!?
