Hello Athame!
My inspiration comes from everywhere, but mostly from daydreaming. Sometimes I look for weird news stories, because those can inspire a lot. I also am a fan of using photos as writing prompts. Dreams are good too. That's really my main source - just looking at something and then using my imagination! As for influences - every day there are things that influence what I'm writing. I'm a high school teacher and I write YA, so some of the things that go on at work have influenced events in my novels. (Though not as much as your might think). Past events, jobs, people, and places play a big part as well.

Never give up. When you don't feel like writing, write anyway. Make sure you're doing it for you - not for any other reason. Even if you never get published, you want to enjoy what you're doing.
