Do you ever get inspiration from anything specific in old Irish folklore for your writing? I have just discovered your Darkmouth series...and I cannot wait to read all of those...
Shane Hegarty Hi Amy. Thanks for the question! While I use elements from Irish folklore - namely the Fomorians (giants in Irish myth) I kind of pick from myths and legends all over the world and then throw them in to the modern setting of Darkmouth and see what happens. I grew up reading Irish myths but also Greek and Roman, but have since loved discovering myths from Africa, Asia, Australia and everywhere else. Do you have a favourite myth or monster? Shane
