Michael Drakich If you know Maslow's hierarchy of needs, at the top of the heap is the one labeled self-actualization. Each time I finish a novel I enjoy the euphoria associated with attaining that goal. It's temporary, but still very satisfying. Like a drug, I'm hooked on that feeling and look forward to the completion of the next one.
Michael Drakich I don't believe in the practice of so many words a day. like 1,000. Promise to write a minimum of one paragraph a day. There will be days that is all you write. That's okay. There will also be days where you will keep writing.

Michael Drakich You've heard this answer a million times before. Never stop writing. Never stop exposing your work in online workshops. Never stop critiquing other writers.
Michael Drakich I am just starting a science fiction novel entitled, I Am. It is set in the very far future as the universe is going cold.
Michael Drakich Television. It's usually so bad that writing is a far more pleasant pastime.
Michael Drakich My most recent book is Demon Stones. I got the idea when writing a short story for an anthology being put together by another author. I decided to take the one detail of a demon coming out of a stone, only a few paragraphs in the short story, and write a complete novel using the same world my novel, The Brotherhood Of Piaxia, is set in. I wanted it to be stand alone so set the events in a neighboring country with different characters.
