Alicia Dean I woke up from the nightmare, panting in relief that it was only a dream. Then I saw the blood on my hands.
Alicia Dean Castle Rock, Maine. I would go to all the sites of the Stephen King tragedies...and I would watch my back. :D
Alicia Dean I'm sorry...I just noticed this question. I don't plan my reading list that far in advance. Most of my pleasure reading is done through audiobooks and I am always looking for the next great read, especially crime fiction/suspense/police procedurals. I do have several in my wish list, some true crime and fiction.
Alicia Dean Hi...I'm so sorry. I just saw this. I'm trying to learn a bit about goodreads. I've never utilized it much. I'm well...now we've been in touch on FB, though, LOL. Glad to be back in touch!
Alicia Dean Hi...I am SO sorry. Please provide your mailing address, and I will send it to you. Thank you for letting me know.
Alicia Dean Hello Shirley,

Yes, I have lived in the area. I was in Kansas City from 2006 to 2009. (Parkville, actually) I fell in love with the area. I miss living there even now. :) Thank you for asking. Are you from the area?
Alicia Dean I write anyway. Even if I'm blocked, I still at least put down some kind of scene notes, such as, 'Someone dies here' or 'She's angry and takes action' etc. If that is all I can come up with for a scene, I write only that, then move on to the next one. I know, when I come back to that scene, I'll either no longer be blocked, or I'll realize I was blocked because it didn't belong in the book, or because I was approaching it from the wrong angle, the wrong POV, or something along those lines.
Alicia Dean I love most everything about being a writer, but one of the best things is hearing from someone who loved my work. It's not an ego thing, it's just gratifying to share something you love and to know someone else enjoyed it too.
Alicia Dean Keep writing, keep writing, keep writing. Don't get stuck on revising one book over and over, get it done and move forward. Even if it's crappy writing, the more you write, the better you become. No matter what, don't give up.
Alicia Dean A suspense with romantic elements titled Without Mercy. It's been in the works for five years now, but I keep hitting blocks and setting it aside. I'm now determined to finish it, and I'm very close. Here is a rough blurb:

When an apparently random bank robbery turns out to be a sinister plan, single mother China Beckett is thrust into a terrifying situation. A group of mercenaries take over he life, threatening her young daughter and everyone they love. Each time China makes a mistake, someone dies. She’ll fight to the last breath to protect her child, but with no idea who to trust or what these people want from her, that might not be enough.

As the lives of China’s loved ones are jeopardized, she realizes she must take action. But she has no idea where to turn--and time is running out. But then, a startling truth is revealed and China discovers that the only person who can help her and her child might be a ghost from the past.
Alicia Dean When the story and characters tug at me, that's all the inspiration I need. However, sometimes, I sit down to write and I feel very uninspired. When that happens, I read sections of what I've already written, or I read some of my favorite passages from other books, then I just write. I just make myself.
Alicia Dean That's difficult to answer, since I have several books in the works. And, generally, the ideas just come to me, randomly. For my current WIP, Without Mercy, I thought about how terrifying a bank robbery must be, then I thought, but, what if it was even worse? What if there was more to come?
