It took me almost 30 years to get this novel from an idea that had popped into my head out of nowhere, to its being published. I was working full-time as an ophthalmologist, a medical doctor specializing in eyes, for most of those years. Thus I made notes of "book ideas" and over decades organized them, added to them and edited them. After I retired, and had more time, it only took me another 8 years to finish.
