Edna Stewart The way how I deal with writer's block is: "God, what are you trying to tell me?" ...mostly I open the window at home in my office, look at the paintings on the wall, then, I go outside to the garden and sit there for awhile...And if it's in the summer, I take off to the beach which is just 10 minutes away.

I escape, go cycle on my bike for a while, go out and enjoy people and talk to them, escape. I get a kick out of my garden and when I finish, I sit on the back deck with the dogs, watch the chickens run around and listen to Zumba music, music of the 70's and 80's

. Then, I go and be of service to people, whether its a smile, a good laugh or a great party!...I truly found out that if I love myself, I can get through writer's block. I'm here to serve people and not me. Overall, get away from writing, go do something different, and I'll bet you'll find your next book to write.

I love you all,
Edna
Edna Stewart The best thing about being a writer? True freedom in life. Even though there are times that you laugh, cry, someone leaves you, well, you gather all your tears and put them away. You use those experiences in your characters and they come to life. I experience and experienced life to write for others and that is my gift and what I am here in this world to do. I enjoy my life and writing.
Edna Stewart My realism advise to aspiring writers?....Write, write, write your Own stories, your experiences in life. And don't try to put yourself in harms way to experience the moements of life. Let things happen naturally, if they fall in place then you know you're suppose to write.
Edna Stewart I am currently working on "The Master Gardener of Toll House" this is about a Vietnam Vet in Onlsow county in search of himself and his new life, he does take a spin at the Driftwood Lounge.
Edna Stewart Well, what's all happened to me in life truly inspired me. I also got a real big nudge from Harriette Austin at the Harriette Austin Writers Conference. She told me to " Just write from your heart." The arts and writing I think was born in me. I want to share what I've learned in life, experiences, and to make people happy and inspire them. I will always write for people.
Edna Stewart The idea came from myself, after dealing with a tramatic brain injury getting back into life. I had to start writing just to learn how to function again. "How can a brain be without any words?" I always wanted to be a writer to tell my stories that are somewhat true and based on things in my life. It came about when writing about what would happen if a true Southern author makes it big as a published author? The story begin to flow. The setting is around Onslow County, where most of my books live.
