Cindy Borgne Read a lot of fiction, books on writing, get a blog going, network with other writers. Get some critique partners. Work at it a lot and you will improve. Pay attention to what is selling and see where you can fit in. Unless, of course, you don't care about that part of it.
Cindy Borgne I usually just force myself. I do a lot of brainstorming to put ideas together. Then write the outline, which I usually don't stick to.
Cindy Borgne There are so many things. The friends I've made from both readers and writers are greatly appreciated. Also, I'm never bored. There is always a project to work on.
Cindy Borgne I ask myself...what is the worst thing that can happen to the main character? Then most likely I make it happen. I'm mean that way.
Cindy Borgne My next novel is called Rebel Shifter. It's a historical/paranormal/romance set during the time of the American Revolution. Rayen is a shifter who lives in the woods with her clan. She falls in love with a hunter, Chad, who lives on the outskirts of a primitive town. The only problem is the shifter who brought her back to life (her master) is evil, more powerful than her and obsessed with Rayen, not to mention he wants to rule both America and England.
Cindy Borgne I thought what if someone had psychic ability and was caught in a situation of being used by someone with power. What if he didn't realize at first, but when he did he was still forced to do things he knew were wrong. What would he do?

Also the idea of putting this all on Mars came about when I'd read about companies building rocket-like planes capable of going into orbit around the Earth. I thought maybe one day it would be corporations that go to the moon or even Mars. Rather than NASA.

Then what if things went wrong and the corporations were abandoned by Earth. In my story, they turn against each other.
