I take a break. There is no point staring at a blank screen. I've been known to stop writing for a couple of months. Then I read the last couple of chapters and then I am in love with the book and the characters again - so I start writing again.

I like to start with a time-line. I jot down my start, middle and end and then create the in between moments. From there you just need to make those things happen and fill in the blanks.

When I see an article, a movie or a television series, or even hear a story from a friend; that is when my mind begins to run wild. For example, watching Sex in the City, has inspired my next book - How about, I call you. I think about how awesome it would to live in their lives, and from that I create my own lifestyle, my characters and what they would do, how they feel and experience their life.

I've used some past experiences, added some extra drama and then the rest followed. Really, it came to me when I was relaxing in my bath.
