Glenn Maynard Hi Sandra,

I got the ball rolling with my first book, Strapped into an American Dream, which was a non-fiction memoir depicting my one year journey through the 48 continental states. Then I thought, okay, what next? The only logical place for me was to write a book from something I created in my mind rather than real life events. I began an outline, then followed through with my paranormal book, Desert Son. The sequel logically followed.
Glenn Maynard I am usually inspired to write because I want to see where the story takes me. That's how my 5000 words per week quota is beneficial. I know I have to reach my quota and I always do, usually writing 1,000 words five days per week. When I hit the 1,000 mark, i'm usually not done with a scene, so when I pick it up the next day I know where I left off and I have a jump start on where I want to go next. It's more difficult when you complete a scene in one sitting and leave off there. Knowing where to begin is ready-made inspiration.
Glenn Maynard I am currently working on book three of my Desert Son trilogy. Book two has a January 7, 2016 release date, and I have completed the first draft of the third book. I am also preparing for the big Northeast CT RV Show, where I will be speaking. Then I have my book launch for Wayward Soul at Barnes & Noble in Manchester, CT, followed by a book signing at Book Club CT in Broad Brook, CT. It's a very busy time, but it's all good because it's book related.
Glenn Maynard Aspiring writers need to master marketing. There's no such thing as just being a writer of books. If you don't push those books up the hill, then you will find yourself at the bottom of the hill surrounded by copies of your own book. Social media is the key, along with finding your target audience. It's not easy, but it's necessary. You have to master a couple of these networking sites and at the same time try to dip your toes in as many as you can, while maintaining your sanity.
Glenn Maynard The best thing about being a writer is creating a world and filling it with characters for the entertainment of readers. I now have three books published and I am editing my fourth. Once my trilogy is completed, I will be dreaming up another world, and I'm very excited about the possibilities of creating a new world and populating it with a different set of characters. I love creating characters. The more bizarre...the better.
Glenn Maynard I step away from writing and spend the rest of my waking hours pondering a solution. Sometimes it means research. Sometimes it means utilizing my time on the elliptical just analyzing the problem, or spending my driving time thinking it through. I stand by my 5000 word-per-week quota when I'm in the middle of a book project, so whatever it is that needs to be resolved must be done before the end of the week. This method has not failed me yet.
