I was a student Nurse and then a Registered Nurse at St. Elizabeth in Dayton during the time period of this book. It was like taking a step back in time to read this? Thank you for such a wonderful book. I did not know how else to contact you to let you know how much I liked your book.
Daniel L. Baker Pam, Thank you! It has been surprising how much I’ve been approached by so many people who worked at St. E and MVH during that time. We give presentations regularly about the era and the story at organizations, clubs and UD Osher Life Long Learning Center at the University Of Dayton.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Daniel L. Baker Write about something you have an interest in as it will fortify your desire to work when you least feel like it. If you don't have a passion for the topic it makes achieving a goal more difficult. Also know your audience; who will be willing to PAY to read the story,

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Daniel L. Baker Personal experiences and in recognition that sharing the history from 50 years ago about racial tensions and the challenges in policing. Sadly, we see the same issues today in Ferguson Mo, NYC, etc, as we tell about I. in "Blood in the Streets." Perhaps the book will help today's communities and police learn for the past.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Daniel L. Baker Establish as much structure as you can stand but make sure not to go 24/7 and never take time away. When bloc hits, stop. Rest, get your mind on something else. Go out, see people, exercise. Allow free time for your brain...sometimes the subconscious awakens when you least expect it and solutions and ideas come to the surface. Talking to a peer can be liberating too when you accept all writers suffer through this.

How do you get inspired to write?
Daniel L. Baker A comprehensive story had never been written about three major events in Dayton's violent history from 1965-75. Hopefully revisiting the events, never tied together until this book, will help Dayton and other urban cities in America avoid such tragedy again.
