Rebecca Rowland Well, my book is a collection of short stories, and each one was inspired by a different thing. Sometimes, my stories come from the smallest of details. For instance, "Open House" sprang from a television commercial advertising enrollment at the Catholic elementary school near my house. "The Munchies" was inspired by a close friend of mine who has small children. He used to begin almost all of our conversations with "Don't ever have children" before recounting a trying incident with one or both of his kids; he loves them more than anything in the world, so the comment became more of a comedic mantra, but I couldn't help but wonder, what if it wasn't the raising of the children that was so frustrating but the pregnancy itself? and the creepy side effect the couple experiences in the story was born.
Rebecca Rowland Right now, I am collaborating with my writing partner, another fiction writer, to pen a thriller/horror novel; we are about 12 chapters in, and I'm very excited about it!
