I have started on the sequel to Dusk Travellers and I am about halfway through. Writing is always enjoyable, and I am a bit quicker when writing my second book. Editing and making the book make sense is still a chore that is necessary that I find exceedingly difficult.

To never give up if you have an idea that you truly believe in. You can always find a way to finish your story. I am a terrible speller but there are programs that can help you as well as friends.

When I have an idea for a story, I get a knot or nervousness in my stomach. If I do not act on that idea the knot gets stronger and I start to feel guilty internally if I do not put my idea down on paper. The more I write the nervousness goes away. It is strange but it works for me.

The idea of Dusk Travellers came from a bad time in my life, when I went through chemo. One day, while sitting in my chemo chair, having drugs pumped through my body I had the thought that vampires would kill to be able to get blood from humans while sat in a chair immobile. The idea has changed many times since that initial thought but that was the spark of Dusk Travellers.

So far, it's being lost in my own imagination. When I write I have a brief idea of where the story is going but the characters on the page take over. The characters' induvial preference or taste lead me and the story on and that's what I really enjoy.

Being a new writer, I do not really get writers block as such, I feel like I have lots of ideas whether they are good or not is a different story. Having 2 children and having a busy life, like everyone else, it is finding the right time to write. I try to write when I'm not being shouted at by my kids or when I am not tried which leaves a small window of time :)
