G.A. Miller My eyes flew open as I gasped aloud, waking from the most horrifying nightmare I'd ever had.

As they adjusted to the darkness, I viewed the devastated remains of my body on the bed, shredded during the carnage, and realized...it hadn't been a nightmare, after all.
G.A. Miller Given how wildly imaginative I was as a kid, not to mention being somewhat of an outcast, I would probably fit quite well as a member of the Loser's Club in Derry, Maine, between the covers of Stephen King's "It". Fortunately, old age hasn't robbed me of all that imagination just yet.
G.A. Miller I'm working on combining a couple of stories in my fictional village of Carson's Mill into a novella, as the ties between them are strong, and lend perfectly to one cohesive work. Stephen King has Castle Rock, I have Carson's Mill, it's all good!
G.A. Miller Be grateful for critique and rejections, and understand why the work wasn't chosen. It may point out ways for you to improve the work, which will increase the chances for publication.
G.A. Miller For me, it's having someone come back to me after reading something I've done, and expressing how much they enjoyed it.
G.A. Miller You really can't force it...I tend to focus on other things, perhaps editing and revising completed work, reading, taking out the camera and concentrating on the images, whatever. Then, out of the blue, an idea pops into my head, and I capture it, so I can work on it when I'm back at the keyboard.
G.A. Miller I have a vivid imagination, and enjoy engaging the "What If?" engine about simple, commonplace occurrences. For example, I have a story titled "Shower Time", which will be appearing in an anthology from Patrick Reuman this fall, where a man steps into his shower, in his home, and steps out into another place entirely, another person entirely...and not the person you'd want to switch places with at all. Once I get the idea, I begin writing and let the story lead me to where it wants to go.
