Pamela Beason Had Duke come back while I was out searching the woods for him? I could see that something was stuffed into his doghouse, but the sounds that creature was making were not remotely doglike.
Pamela Beason thanks so much, Cherie! Yes, my fourth Sam Westin mystery, Backcountry, will be out in early June of this year. In this new book, Sam reluctantly takes the place of a murdered friend in a wilderness therapy program to lead a group of troubled teens through the backcountry of the north Cascades.
Pamela Beason Hmmm...I'm a private investigator as well as an author, so I pretty much investigate everything that is mysterious. The only mysteries I have are questions about motivations, because nobody can truly know what's going on in another's mind unless that person chooses to honestly tell us.
Pamela Beason Oh, ack! I will rectify that and get Race with Danger attached to Goodreads. Race to Truth, the sequel, just came out a day ago. And I'm hard at work on Race for Justice, the conclusion to the trilogy. Thanks for your support!
Pamela Beason Oh, inspiration is everywhere--in the news each day, in the lives of my friends and acquaintances, in my experiences when I'm hiking, kayaking, scuba diving, and traveling. There are far too many stories romping around my brain than time to write them.
Pamela Beason I always work on more than one book at a time. When I get stuck on one, I focus the other, and somehow working on something completely different can jog my mind out of its rut. It also helps me to make progress in more than one series at a time.
Pamela Beason My favorite thing about being a writer is that I can always make justice prevail in my books. That doesn't always happen in real life.
Pamela Beason Persistence is what separates winners from losers in the publishing game. You will be rejected many times in many ways by many people along your publishing journey, but if you continue to work at improving your skills and you continue to write more books, you will eventually be a working author.
Pamela Beason In a few weeks my latest book, Race with Danger, will be published--it's a YA adventure/mystery where the teen heroine must survive an endurance race across a dangerous tropical island with her partner, the newly "outed" love child son of the President of the United States. The manuscript is finished, but I have all the little tasks to do--back cover copy, descriptions for online stores, etc. I'm working on the second in the series, too, which has an ongoing mystery in the past that my heroine will work to solve.
Pamela Beason I am currently writing a YA trilogy about a teen girl living under an assumed identity because someone is hunting for her. She's an endurance runner and competes in multi-day cross-country races in wild places. Where did I get this idea? I guess it's from all the teenage girls I meet who are athletic and have the potential to be strong heroes.
