Hi Soraya, I wish you are well and in good spirits. Thank you for liking my review on your book THE ITALIAN DAUGHTER. I'd like to ask about your other books; The Spanish Daughter, The Pianist's Wife etc. Can the rest of your novella books be read as stand alone books? or Do you have to read the books in chronological order? Thanks!
Soraya M. Lane Hi Tauriq, that's a great question! So my WWII novels are all standalone novels and can be read in any order. The Lost Daughters books are connected but can also be enjoyed as standalone novels. It's best to read them in order if you plan to read the series though. I just finished The Italian Daughter, the first of your books I have read. I liked it very much and I will continue to read your books. I read 30-40 books a year. One small question on this book: do you grow/make wine in England ?? Lily's father was a wine maker ! I have ever heard of this. I live in Italy so the story of the hazel nut paste is quite entertaining ! Inspiration from Nutella and Bacio (Perugina) :) ?

Soraya M. Lane Hi Kimberley, I'm so happy you enjoyed The Secrets We Left Behind! Have you read Hearts of Resistance? I think that is probably the most similar in style from all my other books. I have a new book coming out August 1st - The Secret Midwife - that I think you might like too. Soraya x

Soraya M. Lane Hi Martina. Thanks for your lovely comment, I'm so pleased you've enjoyed the series so far. The third book, The Royal Daughter, will be published October 12th this year, and there are eight books in total planned for the series. Soraya x

I loved & enjoyed The London Girls so much ! I wish that you had added which type of motorcycles the girls were riding. I know several different kinds were used for several different reasons during the course of wwii. I know Harley Davidson was very popular during the war but I even think that bmw produced cycles back then. what kind of bike do you think the girls in the book rode??
Soraya M. Lane Hi Jessy. I'm so sorry I missed your question until now. I will have to go back to my notes and check which motorbikes they were riding. I did have it in the original draft but I think it must have been edited out of the final copy for some reason! Soraya x

I usually stumble upon something interesting in my research for one book, that leads me to the idea for my next book! I'm also always on the hunt for real life accounts of women during WWII in particular.

Soraya M. Lane I'm so sorry Marilyn, I seem to have missed a lot of questions here on Goodreads! I don't receive print ARC's for any of my books unfortunately, and both my publishers (Amazon and Bookouture) manage all digital ARCs. I'm so sorry you were turned down by Bookouture, but you might have more luck on NetGalley with my next Amazon title, The Secret Midwife (pub date August 1st). Soraya

Hi Soraya. I am such a big fan of your writing. I tried to get your upcoming books on Netgalley but the publisher denied me a copy. I am not sure why Bookature always denies my requests but this one was particularly hurtful. I would love to read ARC copies of your upcoming books and post reviews on Goodreads. Can you help me? I would be happy with a kindle version or print copy. Please let me know.
Soraya M. Lane Hi Marilyn, thanks for your question! I'm happy to hear you are a fan :) I believe Bookouture only approve reviewers with blogs/review accounts, but I'm not entirely sure. In general, most publishers try to limit the number of free ARC copies they approve/send out. Unfortunately neither of my publishers do print ARC copies for me (I wish they did!) and I have no control over the NetGalley ARCs. I really hope you do read the book when it's published though x

I enjoy reading your books and appreciate the stories you develop and the characters that you portray. I don't just read for "fun", but I like to learn from what I read, and wonder "what if." What would I do in similar circumstances? - your books provide that.
Soraya M. Lane Sorry I didn't see this question until today! I'm so happy to hear you've been enjoying my books, and I love that you're asking yourself: what if. I feel the same. When I'm researching and writing my books, I like to ask myself what would I do? And then I ask myself what each of my characters would do in each situation. My next novel, The London Girls, will be available November 8th!

Soraya M. Lane I've just finished writing a new book set in Italy (details to come soon!) and I would do anything to travel to Italy right now and spend the summer there with my family!

Soraya M. Lane Hi Mariia! Thank you so much for your question. I've been writing my entire life since I was a little girl, but I realised I wanted to be an author when I was in my early 20s. It's taken me a long time to truly feel like a writer - there are always moments of deep self doubt!

I want to thank you for the print copy of Once Upon A Cowboy Christmas (ARC) that I won on a Goodreads Giveaway. I have not read it yet as I just got it yesterday and have two other ARCs to get done first and then I will be diving into this one. I was just wondering if you have bookplates that I could get to make it a signed copy?

Should you do the continuation from soldier to pope, would it be interesting to know that it was from the marriage of Olivia and Luke and know how is the little Charlie? Will it be possible someday?
Soraya M. Lane Hi Liliana. I missed this question somehow! Well... I would love to do follow up stories for a lot of my characters, but sometimes I think it's best to end the story and leave it to the reader to imagine the future. I'm so thrilled that you enjoyed the story though!

Soraya, Perhaps the notice that the release date of HEARTS OF RESISTANCE, had been changed to the 10th of January by AMAZON, I would not have looked, so unknowing. However, I remember now from you 1st message to me awhile back, that these were STAND ALONE NOVELS. THEREFORE, I may not be so concerned about reading them all together; but, save one or two for a span of time, when I may have nothing to read? Cindy

11/28/17 Soraya, I was doing some updating on my BOOK LISTS and have made a note to begin reading VOYAGE OF THE HEART and your WIVES OF WAR, no later than January 14th, so that I can then immediately begin reading your HEARTS OF RESISTANCE, when it downloads into my KINDLE this coming January 18th! I hope you and yours had a HAPPY THANKSGIVING and wish everyone a very MERRY XMASS in just 27 days from tomorrow? Cindy
Soraya M. Lane Hi Cindy. I can't believe it's almost Xmas! My kids are already bursting with excitement... Now I've just found out that Hearts of Resistance has had a scheduling change and will be released 10th January, however I don't expect your review to be any earlier (I wasn't notified of this, a reader noticed the change on Amazon.com!). I also need to point out that while I'd love you to read my other two titles, they're not linked at all so you don't need to read them before reading Hearts. They're branded as a "collection" by my publisher to indicate they're all WW2 fiction, however they are all absolutely stand alone novels :) Soraya xx
