Kathy Morgan I am waiting for the new book by Lucy Clarke, 'Last Seen', to come out in paperback at the end of June, and that will mean taking a few days off work and immersing myself in it. I also have the second in Kathy Sharp's Isle of Larus series 'Sea of Clouds' on order, and ditto Nora Roberts' 'Obsession', both of which should be delivered any day now.

We are in summer now, right? I am currently reading about the dark and murky world of Stuart MacBride's 'A Dark So Deadly', a rare hardback copy.

Then we are into the Kindle books: continuing with Stuart's Logan McRae series; of course also James Oswald's Inspector McLean's series; and my latest Scottish crime writer discover, Peter May's Enzo files.

No doubt several other books will pop up on the list in the next few months!
Kathy Morgan Erm.....I really don't know. Is that a terrible answer? The idea for having portrait miniatures - the limner's art - came from my partner Bob, but where the rest of the story came from is anybody's guess.
The characters are all entirely from my imagination, which has greatly disappointed several people who would secretly love to be in it. I did try to include some of them in this next book, but for some reason my brain won't allow it!
Kathy Morgan Oh just try sitting for several hours on an antiques stall at a market and you will see how much inspiration simply walks past you!
Kathy Morgan I am going through the final editing and starting the publishing process with book 2 in the Woodford Antiques Mystery series The Bronze Lady, and beginning book 3 which is called Death by Etui.
Kathy Morgan Just do it. Write something YOU are pleased with.
Kathy Morgan Being able to make things up and call it work!
Kathy Morgan I don't tend to get writer's block because I usually only write when I have something to say. If I am struggling with a scene then I will mull it over whilst walking the dog or riding a horse, and of course there are always fun distractions like answering questions on here or planning to meet with fellow authors to give my brain a chance to relax and restart. Sometimes a section of the book won't work because it isn't right, so having a re-think helps too.
