I was watching the classic, "Once Upon A Time in the West", and imagined what it would be like in the rough and tumble wild west if vampires were running around.

Nothing specific. I generally like to come up with a concept, or character and let my brain work it around for a while before I let it hit the page. The longer it sticks with me, the better I know the result will be once I start to put it through the ringer.

I have a third Johnny Scotch book that is in the works. I am also in the editing process for a horror novel that is based on my short stories from "Tales From the Braided Pony". Kind of a spaghetti western vampire story. Very fun pulpy stuff.

Dont worry about what you are writing right away. The important thing is to get used to putting words on the page. If that is in the form of a blog, or reviews, or in short stories, it doesn't matter. The best way to find your voice is to use it.

Getting to meet people that have read my stories and find that I was able to reach them on some level.

I take myself out of my quiet office and head to a bar or restaurant to soak in the energy and atmosphere. I find this helps to unlock the words that are backed up.
