Sherri A. Dub I have to say (Hogwarts), because I love everything that J. K. Rowling has created in the Harry Potter series.
I believe magic is all around us, parallel to what we can find in her novels. I know that there are true "Muggles" that can't understand or accept magic. But, for me, magic is what keeps us going. It moves us toward a better understanding of what we can evolve into.
I'm working on a Young Adult (YA) series of my own, which will combine the ideology of Steampunk and the culture I believe was present to create Atlantis, in the beginning of time.
In the future, I may change my answer, and choose the world I'm currently creating.
Sherri A. Dub Forever, it will remain Jamie and Claire Frazier from Outlander by Diana Gabaldon.
It was written in 1990, the year my son was born. I read this book and it helped me cope with being a single parent.
I learned to cherish "little things" and to look for love in every moment of my life.
I've re-read this book, several times. It remains a beautifully. balanced tome of all that life is truly made of.
Sherri A. Dub If you'd like to send it to me, that'd be fine. I just finished judging the Golden Heart for RWA and I'm about 6 book reviews behind, while I work on my own stuff.
So, I can't make any promises of when I can have it reviewed.
But, I'd be happy to try.
Sherri A. Dub Never would I pretend that such a concept exists. There are days you are more active, the words will flow easily and days when everything just feels like you have to push harder to accomplish anything.
That's work.
The way you choose to face it, deal with it or accept it are up to you.
As individuals, we all have to find our own path.
Sherri A. Dub Seriously, living in my "comfy" clothes. I like to be a homebody, and it feels great to do it on my terms. I can wake up and stumble into the office, cup of coffee in hand and just pound away without make-up or even shoes. That's a game changer for me.
Sherri A. Dub Never convince yourself that you can't write for publication or an income. If you have that mindset, you'll never succeed.
Write, revise and submit. That's the secret recipe.
Sherri A. Dub Any time I need inspiration, I think of all the Harry Potter novels and their unusual depths of creativity. They are the most inspiring works I've ever read to date, and I believe J.K. Rowling's talent will stand the test of time.
Sherri A. Dub Currently, I am writing an adult Paranormal Romance trilogy about 6 friends who restore a ghost town in Nevada. I was inspired by an article I read about a turn of the century mechanical fortune teller machine that David Copperfield was trying to purchase. Also, I read a lot of small news points and try to fill in the blanks myself, for entertainment purposes only. But, that's where the ideas start.
