Tracy I apologize. It has been a crazy two years with Covid. The rules have changed for teaching so many times. Last year I had 330 students. Some were face to face, some were online only, and some were online 3 days/face to face 2 days. I didn't read as much as I wanted, or write as much. I read just about everything except mushy, gushy romance. I have a large Sci-fi shelf at school so yes I do read a lot of it.

I just now saw this. I thank you for the offer. However, when I find a good book I try to support that author by purchasing it for my shelves. This has been a tough year as we must have desks 6 feet apart. Four of my bookcases have been removed and put into storage. I've had to pick and choose which books to keep out and which to store. Talent definitely stayed out.

I had to think about this one for a while. I've read so many great books. One of my favorite authors is Kandi J. Wyatt and her "Dragon Courage" Series. I would want to travel throughout the lands she has created. I would want to be a dragon rider. The idea of a dragon picking me would be awesome. The ability to communicate with a dragon would be awesome. Can you tell that I feel any thing in this world would be awesome? Check out her books if you haven't read them yet.

The Chose One by Nicole Storey
Life After the Undead by Pembroke Sinclair
I know that these two are definitely the first two I will be reading. After that I don't know. I have been given a gift of 3 weeks at an artist retreat to write. I'm sure I'll come up with more books after that.

It is funny that you ask that. I grew up in a farmhouse in Indiana that for years was considered haunted. I have had dreams about that house for years and this year started writing a book titled, "The House That Haunts Me".

Thanks for the offer. I won't cancel it. As an author myself I know how important sales are.

You have my permission to use my review of Eviction Notice. It doesn't matter to me how you identify me. I post my reviews so others can get an idea of the type of books out there.

The best thinng about being a teacher is seeing that struggling child 'get it'. It doesn't matter where they are in their learning. Hearing that child say, "I get it now. That was easy." You knew how hard they struggled yet when that light goes on it seems like it was the easiest thing in the world. Hearing that child that tells you at the beginning of the year, ".I hate reading." Tell you at the end of the year, "Wow, I didn't know there were good books out there, you made a reader out of me." The best thing is teaching a child to see the potential in themselves and then watching them bloom.

This is something everyone deals with. I think before you can deal with it you have to figure out what is causing it. Read different writing blogs, read a book, write poetry, discuss your WIP with someone you trust. All of those are things that can trigger your writing. Most importantly don't give up.

For me the best thing about being a writer is inspiring kids and other teachers to write. They often don't realize they can because no one has ever told them they can or that they believe in them.

Write! Don't listen to that inner voice or anyone else that tells you that you can't write. I have always loved writing. In tenth grade I had a teacher tell me it was a good thing I was going to be a teacher because I'd never make it as writer. I listened to her for several years. Turn off the nay-sayers and believe in yourself.

I am currently finishing a book about two teens involved in a hit and run accident and the events that follow.
I am also working on a picture book with my granddaughter that came about as I was brushing her tangled hair.

Inspiration can come from anywhere. A lot of times it comes from my students. My first book came from a student in my reading class asking me why I didn't write books for the classroom shelves because they liked what I wrote for them in class. Another place it comes from is just life events or things in the news.

Steps to Courage was an idea born from the events of 9/11. I sat in a classroom with sixth graders watching the events unfold on TV. Listening to students discuss what they would do if they were in the towers made me wonder what would happen if there were teens in the towers.
